March is School Board Appreciation Month!
We want to take a moment to recognize and thank the dedicated members of the Grandview R-II School Board for their commitment to our students, staff, and community. Their leadership and vision continue to drive positive change throughout our district!
Thanks to voter-approved bond issue funds, the Board has significantly improved campus facilities, signage, and safety measures, ensuring a better learning environment for all. Additionally, they continue to invest in our incredible educators, administrators, and support staff.
Last month, the Board approved a $3,250 pay increase for our dedicated educators, bringing our starting salary to $44,250 – one of the highest in Jefferson County! We know that competitive pay is key to attracting and retaining amazing teachers, and this is just one part of our commitment to providing an exceptional education for our students.
With this new pay structure, our 4-day school week, and some of the smallest class sizes in the area, we’re taking bold steps toward becoming one of the top-performing school districts in the region.
A big thank you to the School Board for investing in our teachers and staff – because we know that a great staff is the foundation of a great school!

We would like to clarify some issues that have cropped up concerning the previous post concerning the parental meeting on Wednesday March 12. This meeting is to equip parents with information and resources aimed at supporting any of their students who have watched a particular line of videos on social media that invoke a very strong emotional response in some viewers.
While there's really no way to guarantee the number of students who have seen these videos, we do know that some have watched them. When the staff discovers a student who has watched them, they reach out to the family.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday to allow district counseling staff to gather the available resources to share with parents and guardians, as well as gathering representatives of various agencies that can assist.
We hope this clears up some questions and concerns and apologize for any misconceptions or apprehension that arose.

The administration and staff of the Grandview R-II school district has noticed a disturbing trend that is currently gaining a foothold through social media. This trend could impact the personal safety and security of many of our students in all three buildings on campus.
There will be an informational meeting in the middle school gym on Wednesday March 12th at 5:30 PM to attempt to bring to light some of the dangers surrounding this trend. Any or all concerned parents, guardians, or concerned adults are strongly encouraged to attend.
Due to the seriousness of the subject we ask that students not be present in the actual meeting place in order for parents/guardians to be fully involved in the discussion. There will be activities for children in the cafeteria.
Thank you and we hope to see as many of you as possible.

Eagle Nation,
Snow Day Makeup: School will be in session on Monday, February 24, to make up for the snow day on Tuesday, February 18. We wanted to get this out as soon as possible so schedules can be modified. The make-up day for today's snow day will be communicated out as soon as it is determined.
Questions about School Tomorrow: To prioritize the safety of students, parents, and staff, administration is closely monitoring district road conditions, as well as campus lots and walkways, to determine whether school will be in session tomorrow.
Basketball Update: Tonight’s basketball games have been canceled, and no makeup dates have been scheduled at this time.
Stay safe and warm, and we will update you as soon as possible regarding tomorrow’s school schedule.
