One year ago today, the governor of Missouri shut down all public schools in the state due to COVID-19. Over the past year the Grandview school district was able to open up on our normal schedule and bring the kids and staff back. We've constantly tried to create an environment as close to normal as we can. I can't thank the staff enough for the hard work recreating what education looks like this year.
Last week the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in De Soto vaccinated all of our staff with qualifying underlying conditions.
Today Parkland Health Mart of Desloge vaccinated all of our remaining staff that wanted to be vaccinated. Parkland also vaccinated approximately 100 community members beyond just the Grandview Staff.
We cannot thank these two pharmacies enough!
If you are looking for a Pharmacy, I cannot recommend nicer people than those that work at Medicine Shoppe in De Soto and Parkland Health Mart in Desloge.
To me these vaccines are another step toward normalcy, some people need the vaccine to feel safe coming to work and some do not, to me either is fine, as long as they feel safe.
I know it has been a long year and everyone is tired, but seeing everyone come together gives me hope that brighter days are around the corner.
A special thanks to Nurse Kadie, Nurse Jessica, the admin team and everyone who has stepped up to get us to this point, you are all appreciated!

Friday, March 12. Due to changes in scheduling bus routes 1 and 3 will be able to run their normal routes this afternoon. We will not need to combine bus routes 1 and 3 this afternoon.
There will be a Covid-19 TESTING event on campus.

Due to ice remaining on roads and the chance of refreezing tonight, Grandview will not have school tomorrow, Thursday, February 18.
Due to hazardous driving conditions, resulting from inclimate weather, Grandview will not have school tomorrow, February 17. Please stay safe and warm.

As a result of steadily worsening road conditions today and not much hope of improvement overnight the Grandview R-II School District will have another A.M.I. day tomorrow, Thursday, February 11.
Due to dangerous driving conditions tomorrow morning, the Grandview School District will have another A.M.I. day. This is for Wednesday, February 10. Once again, Grandview will not have school on campus on Wednesday, February 10.

They broke ground on the new Dollar General across from the school today.
The Varsity Boys game in the Herculaneum Tournament tonight is canceled. Information on the adjustments to the tournament schedule have not been determined at this time.
