It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of a great member of the Grandview family. Ms. Jackie Sewald unexpectedly passed away last night, Friday, October 20.
Ms. Sewald served the Grandview community for many years and touched the lives of students, parents, and co-workers alike. Her wit and knowledge were surpassed only by her compassion and dedication to helping all she knew, especially her students. In addition, she had a knack for putting all at ease through her "down-home charm".
She will be missed by all who knew her.
We will pass along arrangement information as we are informed.
The school calendar approved in March erroneously marked March 25, 2024, with an X, indicating it would be a day when school would not be in session. Hours for that day were included in the total amount turned in to DESE for the school year. The loss of those hours would cause us to go below the minimum required by DESE guidelines. Therefore, during last night's meeting, the Grandview R-II School Board approved a measure to amend the 2023-2024 school year.
Monday, March 25, 2024, will now be a day of school attendance.
This error was just recently noticed, and we wanted to get it corrected early. The amended calendar can be found by following this link: https://5il.co/27hsz or on the District website.
Here some information from the PTO about the Trunk Or Treat event this Friday
