Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are looking forward to recognizing our students at the upcoming MAP Awards Assembly next week!
To help clarify communication, families who received a message on Rooms titled “Your Child is Being Recognized” can expect that their child will be receiving an award at the assembly. If you did not receive this email, your child will not be receiving an award at this event.
Awards are based on student growth demonstrated on last spring’s MAP assessment. Because this recognition is tied to prior year data, students who did not attend a public school in Missouri last year are not eligible, as they would not have previous MAP scores to analyze.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating the hard work and growth of our students!
If you need to check whether or not your child is receiving an award at the upcoming assembly, please contact the middle school office via phone or email.
Sincerely,
Dr. Copeland
Principal

Please also take a moment to review the parent memo sent on 3/26 regarding student behavior. As we head into MAP testing and the final stretch of the school year, we have many fun activities planned. We want all students to be able to enjoy these opportunities, which means continuing to show kindness, respect, and positive behavior each day.
We are so proud of the growth our students have already shown in Math and ELA and look forward to them giving their best effort during testing so we can continue celebrating their success!

Grandview Middle School continues to be recognized among the best in Missouri!
We are proud to share that Grandview Middle has earned a 2024–25 Growth Award in Mathematics from the PRiME Center at Saint Louis University—an honor given to schools demonstrating outstanding student growth.
This recognition builds on another incredible achievement: Grandview Middle was also ranked 19th in the state for English Language Arts growth (2022–2024), highlighting sustained success over multiple years.
Together, these honors showcase what makes Grandview special—consistent growth, strong instruction, and a commitment to helping every student succeed. From ELA to Math, our students are making gains, and our staff continues to lead the way with dedication and excellence.
This is a true team effort, and we couldn’t be more proud of our students, staff, and community for making it happen!
